Mabel Street

One of three streets off Jones’s Road built by William Hall in the 1880s,1 the other two being Elizabeth Street and Robert Street.

The street is named for William Hall’s daughter, Mabel; she died in Belfast in 1885.2

Hall died sometime before 1900 (he’s referred to as the ‘Late Mr William Hall’ in the Irish Times), which may explain why the houses were advertised for sale in 1902.3
