Bull Alley Street
This is one of three streets built between 1894 and 1901 as part of the redevelopment, by the Iveagh Trust, of the area around St Patrick’s Cathedral.

The area around St Patrick’s in the 1890s.
In December 1903, the Trust proposed names for the streets to the Corporation
- Street 1, replacing Ross Lane and Kennedy’s Lane, to be called Ross Road.
- Street 2, which more-or-less replaced Bride’s Alley, to be called Bride Road.
- Street 3, following the line of Bull Alley, to be called St Patrick’s Place.
The Corporation’s Paving Committee was then told that Lord Iveagh had subsequently written to the Lord Mayor suggesting that the name of Street 3 should retain a link to ‘Bull Alley’, and noting that ‘His Lordship [Lord Iveagh] preferred “Bull Alley Street”, that’s what they opted for.
