Everton Avenue

Everton Avenue, off the Old Cabra Road, is one of several streets built in the early 1900s on the lands of ‘Everton House’, a fine Victorian residence that still stands.

One other of the streets, Ellesmere Avenue, has a related name, ‘Everton’ being a district of Liverpool, and ‘Ellesmere’ a port on the Manchester Ship Canal.

The streets were taken in charge by the Corporation in 1905.1
