The Irish Historic Towns Atlas is published by the Royal Irish Academy and aims to ‘record the topographical development of a selection of Irish towns both large and small’.
Three parts have been published for Dublin so far, taking us up to 1847.
Two Dublin suburbs have also been published in a separate series, Clontarf and Rathmines.
Citation format: Thom’s, [year]. Thom’s Irish Almanac and Official Directory with the Post Office Dublin City and County Directory was published by Alexander Thom annually from 1844. It’s one of the most important source for the history of Dublin streets, but it’s not infallible.
Saunders Newsletter. Dublin (1745-1879). Saunders News-letter was the successor to Esdal’s News-letter; first published in 1745 by James Esdal, the copyright was bought by Henry Saunders, Esdal’s apprentice, in 1755.
